Concerts in the Chapel Presents: The Phillip Wildman Trio

Doors 6pm, Show 7pm

The Phillip Wildman Trio are thrilled to be making their Texas touring debut this October! With velvety vocals, soaring fiddle melodies, and driving bodhrán rhythms, this trio will bring a smile to your face and have every toe tapping. If you enjoy Western Swing classics, singer-songwriter originals, and the occasional Irish tune thrown in, don't miss this powerhouse performance.

Phillip Wildman is a talented singer-songwriter from Dorchester, Texas. His musical influences range from Broadway to Western Swing with a lot of old time country along the way. Because of his wit and catchy melodies, companies have used Wildman and his jingles for advertising and promotion. Wildman is a three-time Top Ten finalist, two-time Top Three finalist, and two-time People’s Choice Award Winner in the Texas Troubadour competition. Phillip has performed with greats such as the Light Crust Doughboys and Jim “Texas Shorty” Chancellor at The Kennedy Center. He has opened for Heather & Max Stalling, and Riders in the Sky, and is a regular performer at the Gar Hole in Westminster, TX.

Cara Wildman is a highly sought after bodhrán player at the cutting edge of the instrument's modern development. She credits a large part of her musicality to playing western swing and two-stepping with her parents in her hometown of Dorchester, Texas. She has toured with Joanie Madden, Oisin Mac Diarmada's Irish Christmas in America, Máiréad Nesbitt, Outlander in Concert, and more. Cara was the 2021 All-Ireland Fleadhfest champion and has a Masters in Irish Traditional Music Performance from the University of Limerick in Ireland, and two degrees from Texas Christian University in music education.

Jake James is a two-time All-Ireland fiddle champion, bodhrán player, and dancer from Queens, NYC. The Irish Echo called his 2018 album Firewood an "outstanding debut solo recording." Since then, he's released In Reel Time with fellow NYC flute player Brenda Dowling and toured throughout the United States, Canada, and Japan with esteemed groups such as the Green Fields of America, the Trinity Irish Dance Company, the Paul Brock Band, and RUNA.
