Malford Milligan is an American soul, blues & gospel singer who has been compared to Otis Redding, Al Green & James Carr. He is 8-time award winning “Best Vocalist” at the annual Austin Music Awards.
Malford has fronted several bands since the mid-1990’s, including the Texas super band, Storyville, which included David Grissom and David Holt as well as bassist Tommy Shannon and drummer Chris Layton, members of the late Stevie Ray Vaughan’s band, Double Trouble. He went on to sing with such stars as Doyle Bramhall II, Marcia Ball, Eric Johnson, Stephen Bruton, Hal Ketchum, Derek O’Brien, and others. He was a regular at the weekly Blue Monday nights at the legendary Antone’s Nightclub. He also performed in the special memorial show honoring his longtime friend, Stephen Bruton, after Bruton passed away in 2009.
He sang with The Boneshakers, The Malford Milligan Band, Nation Sack with Greg Koch, Malford Milligan & the Southern Aces, and other projects. He has lent his voice to many song tracks over the years. From 2015 to the recent past, he was touring Europe as Malford Milligan & the Southern Aces, releasing several albums of original songs as well as classic remakes.
His newest project is touring as Malford Milligan & Tin Cadillac Band. Their latest album, “Pictures All Over You” includes rerecorded popular originals and two new originals dedicated to Malford’s wife, Vickie Milam Milligan, who painted the album cover artwork.
A lifelong Texan, Buddy Whittington 'entered the arena' on December 28, 1956, in Fort Worth, and became enamored of the electric guitar like countless kids of his vintage shortly thereafter, who were mesmerized at the reality that 'you plucked a string...'here', and the sound came out...'over THERE.' A succession of fledgling musical efforts with varying degrees of success ensued, culminating in an offer by John Mayall to join The Bluesbreakers in 1993, when then-Bluesbreakers guitarist Coco Montoya decided it was time to hit the highway on his own. Buddy ‘received the call' and appeared on countless Mayall shows and recordings worldwide for the 15 years between 1993 and 2008.
